RCP - Respiratory Care Services - Per DiemSUMMARY: This position is accountable for managing the basic respiratory needs of patients in the Emergency, Acute Care and Critical Care units with consistency and a minimal degree of independence under the direction of the Medical Director. The incumbent delivers patient care in an efficient manner within the scope of the Respiratory Care Practice Act and Valley Children's Healthcare policies.
REQUIREMENTS: This position requires: A) graduation from a two year AMA approved respiratory care program with an Associate of Science Degree B) an active California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) licensure; C) eligibility for the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) exam. Applicants with less than 6 months experience must successfully complete the RRT within 12 months of hire. Applicants with more than 6 months experience must have the RRT at the time of hire; D) a Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) credential through the NBRC-National Board for Respiratory Care within 1 year of hire into a CardioPulmonary Lab position; E) Life Support Certifications (see specifics below); and F) demonstrated basic mathematical calculation skills and understanding of age/cultural principles. Bilingual skills desirable.
Life Support Certifications Required:1) HeartCode Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days; 2) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months: NICU; 3) Focus Pediatric Resuscitation (FPR) within 12 months: All departments except NICU
POSITION DETAILS: Per Diem, shifts vary.
