NYU Langone Health: Section Chief of Interventional Pulmonology
Job Summary: The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at NYU Langone Health is recruiting for a faculty member at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor with at least 5 years post-graduate experience to serve as the Section Chief of Interventional Pulmonology for our rapidly growing health system. The NYU Langone Health Interventional Pulmonology program currently comprises four AABIP boarded Interventional Pulmonologists and an AIPPD accredited Interventional Pulmonary fellowship program, as well as three advanced diagnostic bronchoscopists, and a dedicated Interventional Pulmonology nurse practitioner.
In addition, the NYU Langone Interventional Pulmonary program works in close collaboration on clinical and research initiatives with colleagues in the NYU Langone Lung Cancer Center from Thoracic Radiology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Pathology, and Thoracic Surgery. As an integral aspect of the Lung Cancer Center, Interventional Pulmonology also leads the NYU Langone Lung Cancer Screening program, one of the largest in the greater New York City region.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in interventional pulmonary procedures, demonstrated leadership experience, and a passion to expand dedicated interventional pulmonary services at NYULH. The candidate will become a key member of the NYU Pulmonary Oncology Research Team (NYU PORT) and actively participate in ongoing and future clinical trials, including new technology development. In addition, the candidate would ideally have a record of accomplishment in clinical and translational research with current or prior extramural funding (NIH preferred). Desired leadership qualities include high profile roles in national and international societies in the fields of Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine and Interventional Pulmonology.
