The Division of Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine, working in partnership and practicing at Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta, is seeking a full-time board-certified pediatric intensivist to join our 13 physicians and four pediatric nurse practitioners. We are seeking an applicant with 3-5+ years of clinical experience, including experience in fellowship or residency leadership positions, a passion for education and mentorship. This position will provide directorship of the Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship program, a nationally leading program currently with12 fellows. This is an outstanding position for a fellowship leader to live and work in a desirable, advanced healthcare market, to develop trainees in a complex care environment, to promote innovative training approaches, and to develop the next generation of pediatric critical care medicine providers.
Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the country. Our PICU is a 36-bed state-of-the-art medical and surgical unit, with approximately 3,000 admissions each year, which cares for a diverse patient population. PICU faculty oversee medical trainees including medical students, residents, and fellows. We anticipate further growth in this fellowship program from 12 to 15 fellows as we move forward to a new, expanded campus, including the Arthur M. Blank Hospital, on target to open in Fall 2024. A physician joining our group will find family-oriented individuals who value mutual respect. Numerous opportunities exist for collaboration across disciplines and in conjunction with Emory, Georgia Tech, Morehouse, and the CDC.
In addition to clinical time in the PICU job responsibilities will include but will not be limited to: Provide oversight direction for the Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship program, with protected FTE for this role.
