Overview Come help support a new unit at the University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC)! As an academic facility, there are many innovative procedures that are unique to UMMC. These include the following programs: ECMO, LVAD, and solid organ transplants. This is an exceptional opportunity to help stand-up a brand-new unit. 6D opened as an 18-bed step-down ICU/IMC at the beginning of March 2021. The anticipated patient population includes intermediate level neuro, cardiac and general medical patients. Currently this unit has more intermediate general medical patients including the ability to take stable vented patients, CVP monitoring, and art lines.
