In addition to its hospitals, Duke Health has an extensive, geographically dispersed network of outpatient facilities that include primary care offices, urgent care centers, multi-specialty clinics and outpatient surgery centers.
Perform work under the supervision of a registere d nurse, the patientattendant safety aide maintains constant direct obse rvation andvisualization of identified patient(s).
Constant and direct observation of the patient.Monitoring c hanges in the patient's physical, emotional, and mentalcondition. Commun icate the status of the patient, including any changes.Observing and rep orting patients' behavioral changes.Document observation in electronich ealth record.Support staff with ambulation and mobilization of patients. Support staff with personal hygiene: bathing, oral hygiene, nail care,an d grooming. Support staff with repositioning, feeding, and toileting.Oth er duties as assigned:Personal Protective Equipment Observer: Assist wit h applying andremoving of clinical outerwear of health care professional s.Screener: Assist with wellness screening of employees upon arrival tot he hospital.
Understa nds basic first aid and CPR, and is capable of administeringthem if need be.Demonstrates a personal interest in the health and well-being of oth ers.Is willing to place the needs of others first.Has the ability to wor k without supervision.Is able to maintain patient confidentiality.Posses ses good time management skills.Has good physical strength and stamina.< /p>
Work requires completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Work generally requires six months of experience in the hospital setting. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
