Cardiovascular ICU Intensivist
The Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI), a division of Dignity Health St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center, is recruiting an Intensivist for the Cardiovascular ICU (CICU). This critical care position provides advanced medical care for the hospitalized patients in the CICU. Successful candidates will be expected to provide exceptional patient care in a multidisciplinary setting in the CICU, demonstrate teamwork with midlevel providers and increase academic productivity. This ICU will have a mix of cardiovascular surgery and cardiac patients.
Experience and or interest in managing patients with advanced circulatory support devices (VA ECMO, Impellas, Protech Duos, balloon pumps etc.) is essential. Advanced training in ECMO cannulation and participation in a Cardiovascular Shock Team will be part of the skill set which will be incorporated in this practice. We will offer hands-on training and education to those who are dedicated and interested in state-of-the-art care to patients requiring Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS).
