Want to work fewer hours, have less stress and live in America’s Paradise?
Governor Juan F Luis Hospital on the island of St Croix in the US Virgin Islands is recruiting BC/BE critical care physicians (surgery, pulmonary, emergency medicine or anesthesia). As the only hospital on an island of 42,000 people, providing critical care offers unique opportunities and challenges. Our ICU patients are housed in a 12 bed combined ICU/PCU space with daily ICU census averaging 2-3 patients. We envision the Critical Care service expanding to 4 physicians, each covering 7 consecutive 24 hour shifts, providing a 1 week on/3 weeks off schedule. We will build a team of innovative physicians to bring quality improvement to the ICU and help the hospital transition from our just completed temporary space to a new state of the art hospital in approximately 5 years.
This is an ideal practice for Critical Care physicians who wants slow down, work less and enjoy life! The island offers culture, history, music, art, beautiful beaches, sailing, diving, snorkeling, paddle boarding and much more!
Our small hospital can’t compete with the high intensity ICU salaries found stateside, but reflects less hours in the hospital. Compensation package includes health insurance, $1000 annual education stipend, sick leave accrued each pay period, $6500 relocation assistance and paid malpractice insurance.
BC/BE critical care physicians (surgery, pulmonary, emergency medicine or anesthesia). BE physician are expected to become board certified within 2 years of hire.
