Trauma Registrar - Trauma Administration - Per DiemJOB SUMMARY: The Trauma Registrar is responsible for ongoing review, abstraction, verification, injury & diagnosis coding & recording of trauma patient demographics, clinical information & quality improvement reporting for the Valley Children's trauma registry database. Responsible for preparing reports from the trauma registry for the purposes of internal reporting, oversight agency reporting, research, quality improvement & injury prevention activities. Organizes and collaborates with the County & State Emergency Medical Services & the American College of Surgeons National Trauma Data Bank and TQIP in cleaning, formatting & submitting data within the prescribed timelines & deadlines. Active participant in screening for quality indicators & filters & initiating & facilitating discussion about PI & PI loop closure in weekly Trauma PI meetings
REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a High School Diploma/GED AND a College degree - 2 year in a health related field or equivalent work experience with a strong emphasis on data integrity and analysis. College Degree - 4 year preferred. CSTR (Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry) License is required within 24 months of hire or transfer into position. A minimum of one (1) year related experience required. Knowledge of Medical Terminology through either formal coursework or work experience in the healthcare field. Trauma experience, AIS/ISS, ICD-10-CM/PCS coding familiarity is preferred. Previous registry/report writing experience preferred. Strong analytical skills; strong communication skills; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize requests and assignments; self directed with the initiative to function independently as needed; computer skills in work processing and data management.
POSITION DETAILS: Per Diem Position
PAY RANGE: $24.90 - $38.00
