Job Description
Assesses plans, organizes, performs, and evaluates nursing activities to meet the needs of the patient. Promotes adaptive responses of patient and family to achieve the highest level of patient care, promote safety, and maximize patient satisfaction. Exhibits compassionate care during patient-nurse interactions. Coordinates patient care and interaction of staff. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in their assigned nursing unit. Responsible for ensuring the very best patient and family experience by optimizing all interactions.
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. As a Level 1 Trauma Center we see any and all trauma patients in the surrounding area. We primarily see blunt force trauma patients (falls, motorcycle/motor vehicle accidents) as well as the occasional penetrating trauma (gun shot, stabbings, or impalements).
In the Surgical ICU we see any patient requiring ICU level of care after a surgical procedure; the exception is cardiac surgery and neurosurgery.
Trauma ICU is a 14 bed unit consisting of all private rooms and the Surgical ICU is an 8 bed unit consisting of all private rooms. Both units are in different locations, but as a member of our team you can work on either unit helping to expand yourclinical knowledge base with critically injured and critically illpatients.
