Unit Summary
This 14-bed Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) provides care for adults with complex cardiac conditions, including multisystem organ failures. Our CTICU team manages advanced hemodynamics, telemetry, and device monitoring with multidisciplinary collaborative teams to provide high-acuity complex care to over 4,000 critically ill adults annually. Highly trained Level 1 Cardiothoracic & Cardiac Intensive Care Nursing staff. CTICU has a closed admission structure. The Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Cardiology Attending, Heart Failure Attending, Physician Assistants (PA), Nurse Practitioners (NP), Fellows, and Residents manage patient care. Communication exchange is held within the multidisciplinary team as well as with other specialties consulted to individual patients which include vascular, anesthesia, pain management, VAD coordinators, transplant team, nephrology, neurology, and a variety of other specialties.
