Chief Medical Officer New London Hospital
New London Hospital is a proud member of Dartmouth Health. With its founding as Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital dating to 1893, the Dartmouth Health (DH) system’s roots are synonymous with world-class medical care strongly connected by bonds of community, expertise, trust, history and heart. Built upon a wide-spread network of experts and facilities across the region, DH is fully engaged and works seamlessly across its communities to provide quality, value-based care, state-of-the-art science and individual attention to each patient and their specific needs.
The OrganizationNew London Hospital is a 25-bed rural community hospital serving 15 communities within the Kearsarge/Lake Sunapee region in central New Hampshire providing primary care, emergency, and specialized clinical services to the community it serves. New London Hospital’s number one goal is to continually improve the wellbeing of individuals in their region by providing high-quality healthcare to their communities.
In April of 2003, New London Hospital received designation as a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) after a successful survey of the hospital by the state of New Hampshire. CAH is a federal program designed to support small rural non-profit hospitals across the country. Under CAH, New London Hospital maintains 15 acute care inpatient beds and 10 swing beds (beds for patients who need hospitalization but are not considered acute care patients) for a total of 25 beds. Another important part of CAH status includes an established relationship with a tertiary care hospital, met by a collaborative agreement with Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
