Summary:

Provides essential leadership and coordination of patient care services on the specified nursing unit; coordinates the allocation of staff and other resources according to departmental needs; facilitates the on-going achievement of the unit, department and facilities mission and goals; promotes the development and improvement of processes directed at providing quality, economical healthcare services; provides direct patient care on a routine basis.

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline overlooking Corpus Christi Bay is the largest and foremost acute care medical facility in the region, with a full range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer and stroke care. It is the leading emergency facility in the area and a Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with physicians and nurses specially trained in emergency services.

• The Pavilion and the Critical Care Center house a state-of-the-art Emergency Department, ICU, Cardiac Cath Lab and surgical suites.

The Shoreline campus is a premiere facility housing many of the region's most vital and renowned programs such as a Primary Stroke Center, nationally accredited Cancer Center and a nationally recognized Chest Pain Center. Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Five years clinical experience in applicable nursing area (unit specific) preferred; Charge nurse experience preferred.
  
• Current Texas RN License
  
• CPR (American Heart Association)
• ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer date
• For Shoreline Emergency Department: CPI within 90 days of hire/transfer date, TNCC within 18 months of hire/transfer date, ENPC or PALS within 18 months of hire/transfer date, and NIHSS within 90 days of hire/transfer date.
