SUMMARY OF POSITION:
A Graduate or certified Respiratory Therapist who, under medical supervision, delivers respiratory care services to patients in all areas of the hospital according to policies and procedures approved by the Medical Director. These duties are generally performed with only minimal or indirect supervision and must frequently make independent decisions. The therapist must be able to adapt to the particular area assigned and must be able to perform special duties required by the assignment. The therapist may be required to supervise and be responsible for the work of other respiratory care practitioners. The therapist may also be assigned orientation and in-service education responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Associate Degree Graduate of an approved Respiratory programLicensed to practice as a Respiratory Therapist by the state of employmentCurrent BLS certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
ACLS, PALS, or NRP
