Works with assigned clinical specialty line team of clinical educatorsto meet the education needs of the specialty. The e ducator willfacilitate the adult learning process creating a climate whi ch supportslearning. Leads educational activities consistent with the s tandards ofpractice in the delivery of care and services in the assigned department. Assist the department leader with the educationaloperations, and compliance standards.
Works as pa rt of a system, entity, or work unit to develop and delivereducation to identified audiences.Communicate effectively with staff and management r egarding educationalneeds and offerings.Coordinate educational activitie s with the assigned clinical arealeadership. Establish and maintains a d epartmental educationaldocumentation system consistent with regulatory a nd hospital standards.Builds collaborative relationships with assigned c ustomer groups.Works closely with new hires and current staff within ass igned locationsto facilitate orientation, competency validation and meet ongoinglearning needsProvides instruction to the assigned clinical area through researchmaterials, lectures, curriculum planning, formal traini ng methods andon-the-job instruction techniques.Assesses the training ne eds and progress of staff members; researches,develops andevaluates in- service training programs. Develops evidence-based educational material .Develop and conducts annual competency validation process.Develops/coor dinates education plans related to initial and ongoingcompetency.Assess, plan and implement programs for staff development to upgrade andmaintai n competency skills.Demonstrate effective problem identification, proble m solving andpriority setting skills.Demonstrate objectivity in addressi ng problems.Supports staff development with educational activities (whic h includeremediation, certification, mentoring, life support, Joint Comm issionrequirements, new equipment/procedures, electronic health recordup dates)Serve and actively participate on assigned committees, both unitsp ecific and hospital education. Participate in the development ofeducatio n and unit policies and procedures as appropriate. Assist inassuring com pliance with the requirements of regulatory agencies.Participate in budg etary planning and execution for meeting orientation,education and train ing needs.
Demonstrat ed potential ability to perform the essential functions asoutlined above .Ability to provide care to the populations served.Demonstrated human re lations and effective communication skills.Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of life span growth anddevelopment and the ability to assess data regarding the patient'sstatus andprovide care as described in the department's policies andprocedures manual.Demonstrated clinical compet ence in defined areas and departmentstandards.

Bachelor's degree required in field related to the assigned clinical discipline. Master's Degree preferred.
5 years of experience in the assigned clinical area. Experience with adult educationand experience with designing and delivering training curriculum preferred.
A state license and registry required based on assigned clinical area.
