The Department of Surgery of Emory University School of Medicine at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia, is actively seeking 4 Acute Care Surgeons at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor academic ranks. This will be a full-time position with the Grady Health System Acute Care Surgery Service and an academic Emory School of Medicine appointment. The Service currently consists of 14 ACS surgeons.
Clinical responsibilities include trauma, emergency general surgery and surgical critical care coverage at Grady Memorial Hospital's Marcus Trauma Center, an ACS verified Level I Trauma Center responsible for a population of 5,000,000 in northwest Georgia.

Additional responsibilities include supervision and teaching acute care surgery fellows, (currently 7 trauma/surgical critical care fellows in a two year program), Morehouse and Emory surgery residents, advanced practice providers and Medical/PA students. There are extraordinary opportunities for clinical, outcomes and translational research based on patient volumes, acuity, and external research funding within the Department. Candidates must be Board-eligible/certified in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. The ideal candidate will have completed a 2-year ACS fellowship, have a strong background and interest in research and/or have a MPH, MSc or similar degree. Preferred Qualifications:
Board Certified Surgeon with post-graduate training
A valid, unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia
A controlled Substance Registration Drug Enforcement Administration Certificate
