Reporting directly to the CEO of Penn State Health this position is responsible for providing clinical strategic direction and oversight for Penn State Health (PSH), and engaging with administrative, operational and clinical colleagues across the system to ensure that patients receive the highest standard of medical care. The Executive Vice President, Chief Medical Officer will oversee the medical care delivery system, including development and implementation of strategies, programs, policies and procedures for all medical services across the Health System. This leader is also responsible for coordinating and implementing effective and efficient management of clinical resources in the delivery of inpatient and outpatient care.
What we’re seeking:
Our ideal candidate will have a MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent, have a primary and/or sub-specialty board certification from the American Board of Medical Specialties, and current licensure or eligibility to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In addition will also have ten (10) years of experience as a chief medical officer, vice president of medical affairs, or other senior physician leadership position in an academic healthcare environment or complex community teaching hospital. The successful candidate should have the ability to engender trust and credibility while conceiving and implementing standardization and best practices using their proven leadership experience in a complex multi-hospital healthcare environment.
