Job Summary:
The Charge Nurse is a management position responsible for organizing, planning, directing, coordinating, and providing high quality, individual patient care pursuant to the position accountabilities set forth below. This includes assisting with the development and implementation of systems for evaluation of clinical competency of the nursing staff, helping to develop and update standards of care and policies, consultation of the nursing staff for complex nursing issues. It includes providing pertinent continuing education for existing staff, mentoring of new staff, and Performance Improvement activities.
Mandatory: Current CA RN license Current BLS and ACLS Meet all requirements for a Level II Critical Care Clinical Ladders
Preferred: Membership in a professional organization Bachelors Degree CCRN Member of hospital committee Meets requirements for Level III Critical Care Clinical Ladder
