Postdoctoral position investigating human non-coding RNA risk factor networks in neuropsychiatric diseases.
Two postdoctoral positions supported by NIH grant are available immediately in the Mao lab within the department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology at Emory University School of Medicine. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to investigate signaling and mechanisms of stress response in neural homeostasis and in neurodegenerative diseases.
The lab has multiple projects investigating the functional integration between organelles including lysosomes, ER, and endosomes, their regulation, and role in the pathogenic process in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Applicants are expected to have a recent PhD or MD degree, strong training and experience in one or more of the areas including molecular and cell biology, neurobiology, neuroimmune/inflammation, human iPSC-derived neural cells, and pathogenesis of Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease, and skills in verbal and written communications. Successful candidates will work in a highly collaborative environment that offers a multidisciplinary research platform involving human iPSCs, genetically engineered mouse models, and chemical biology.
