Position Summary:The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for the delivery of skilled respiratory care modalities and interventions to designated patient populations with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities, which requires the use of advanced practitioner skills to intervene in complex patient care situations. This position requires specialized training and experience to perform independent, professional respiratory care, ventilator management, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and clinical evaluation of care, including the establishment of therapy and treatment objectives, and the review of care based on the age and needs of the patient. This position operates independently, under limited supervision. Internal contacts include patient care staff and management. External contacts include patients, families, physicians, outside health care providers, and other organizations.
Minimum Requirements:One-year acute care experience in the field of respiratory therapy and critical care preferred
Education/Licenses/Certifications:Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Therapy Training program Certified (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory CareLicensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with the State of WashingtonRegistry eligibility notice to sit for RRT exam from NBRC requiredCurrent CPR certification required Advanced cardiac life support credential required within 90 days of hire depending on age of the population served: ACLS, NRP, PALS
