Summary

The Nurse Extern II is an individual currently enrolled in a School of Nursing who has successfully completed two (2) Clinical Nursing courses. When on duty, he/she assists patients with activities of daily living and provides basic patient care which is designed to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of the patient. Specific interventions are performed once competency is verified by an RN staff member. The Nurse Extern II may perform the job duties of a Nurse Extern I under the supervision of a Registered Nurse as necessary.

Education

Completion of the second Clinical Nursing course

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations

• CPR Certification (Basic Life Support)
• Letter of recommendation from his/her School of Nursing
