Summary:

Assesses the physical and psychosocial status of clients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic tests. Interprets data, develops and implements therapeutic plans, and follows through on a continuum of care across the health-illness continuum and life span.Must have preference for working with and assisting people; must be able to handle a variety of situations and effectively communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and education levels. Will be expected to follow policies and procedures and supports the Mission, Vision and Core Values of CHRISTUS Health.

Requirements:

Must be an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

A.Education/Skills

Graduate of a State Board and or NLM accredited school of nursing or equivalent; graduated of a State Board and NLN accredited Advance Nurse Practitioner program; State certification required; National certification preferred; Master's Degree required. Must possess dexterity to operate computers, perform phlebotomies, start IV's, give injections, etc.

B.Experience

Advanced Nurse Practitioner experience preferred

C.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas required, current certification to practice as an Advance Nurse Practitioner in the State of

Texas required. Certification as a nurse practitioner by the American Nurse

Association preferred, but not required. American Heart Association BLS – within two (2) weeks of employment. ACLS certification recommended.
