The Section of Pediatric Critical Care, in collaboration with the Children’s Heart Center at the Yale School of Medicine, is recruiting a Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to join our growing team. The successful candidate will work with other members of the Section of Pediatric Critical Care to further develop our state-of-the-art clinical program. Clinical duties will be carried out in the Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital’s dedicated Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at the main campus in New Haven, CT. The successful candidate will take care of pediatric and adult congenital cardiac patients, pediatric heart transplant patients, and pediatric patients requiring mechanical circulatory support, in close collaboration with Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery.
The successful candidate will join the Yale School of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics faculty as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Clinical Track. A record of excellence in the clinical care of congenital cardiac patients is required. An expertise in non-cardiac critical care would be a plus. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the ideal candidate should have a desire to be contributors or collaborators on research studies, although this is not requited for promotion within the Clinical Track. Since the Section has a strong academic focus, contributing to the Section’s scholarly projects is encouraged, while developing their own research program would be a plus. Furthermore, the candidate is expected to actively participate in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and in Section and Department quality and safety efforts.
The position will remain open until position is filled.
Yale University is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer. Women, minorities, persons with disabilities and protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
The desired candidate should be board certified or eligible in pediatric critical care or pediatric cardiology; preference will be given to those individuals having dual training in pediatric critical care and cardiology, or pediatric critical care and a year of advanced training in cardiac intensive care medicine.
The candidate will receive a competitive salary with incentive compensation in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.
Interested applicants should submit Curriculum Vitae, Cover Letter and a list of 3 References to:
