In collaboration with the Administration and the Medical Staff this individual provides planning, direction, leadership, negotiation and integrating for Medical Staff functions/activities in accordance with medical staff bylaws, Manatee Memorial Hospital and Lakewood Ranch Medical Center policies and procedures. The CMO is a key member of senior management who has administrative responsibility for the practice of medicine at MMH/LWRMC, such responsibilities encompass not only the internal functioning of the departments within the Chief Medical Officer’s division, but also the integration, coordination and direction of care/services into the overall functioning of MMH/LWRMC. Participates with hospital leaders in formulating strategic planning and accomplishing institutional goals and objectives while serving as a liaison between the medical staff and administration. Demonstrates administrative responsibility for the quality of care, medical education and utilization of resources and the hospital departments that support those functions.
Manatee Memorial Hospital is a 295-bed hospital with over 550 physicians, residents and allied health professionals, offers advanced healthcare services in a caring and compassionate environment.
