Job Summary:
Responsible for the planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to patients on the critical care setting. Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice. Responsible for critical care nursing knowledge and skills applicable to but not limited to the care of patients with multi system failure requiring ventilation, neuro / trauma, respiratory failure, and hemodynamic monitoring.
Required Training/Education/Experience/Certification: CA. RN License, BLS, ACLS, TNCC within one year of hire or transfer into department. (Current employees as of 6/30/21 have 2 years to complete) Passing completion of a Critical Care Nursing course. Successful completion of a Trauma Nursing Core Course within 1 year of hire or transfer into the department.
Desired Training/Education/Experience/Certification: Six months previous critical care experience; BSN and CCRN. Responsible for the planning and provision of nursing care to patients in the critical care units. Has excellent observation, good nursing judgment/critical thinking , and good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with multiple tasks in a team setting utilizing interpersonal, organizational and prioritizing skills. Able to supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice. Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligations.
