The role you’ll contribute:

• The Nurse Tech supports the delivery of patient care in accordance with standards of care emphasizing basic hygiene, comfort, and activities of daily living under the direction of the Registered Nurse to promote the achievement of identified patient outcomes.
• Communicates, and assists with treatments as instructed by the RN.
• Provides for patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials, answering patient call lights and requests, transporting patients, and reporting observations to the RN.
• Obtains Vital Signs, weights, I & O, and blood sugars.
• Reports changes of condition, potential problems or concerns involving the patient or family promptly to the nurse in a timely manner. (i.e. Vital signs, intake/output).
• Documents accurately and timely all procedures and patient care tasks.
• Commits to AHWC Hourly Round
• Demonstrates organizational commitment standards and values.
• Removes IV catheters, disposes of in accordance with hospital biohazardous waste policy, observes site and notifies nurse of condition and documents in electronic medical record.
• Empties Foley bags, JP’s, hemovacs and documents care and intake/output in EMR.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· High School diploma or GED upon hire

· Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

· Current FL CNA license OR EMT license OR Medical Assistant diploma OR Completion of Fundamentals of Nursing (transcript) upon hire

· Current American Heart Association BLS certification upon hire

· One hour of Hip & Knee replacement surgery education required within 6 months of hire date, then annually. (NOT REQUIRED FOR BABY PLACE)
