Position Information: The Nurse Practitioner provides direct patient care for critically ill patients in collaboration with primary and/or backup supervising physicians. Performs critical care and pulmonary procedures as needed. Admits adult patients independently to the ICU, manages their care daily in collaboration with the supervising physicians, and discharges patients independently. Provides non-ICU patient consultation and follow-up on the pulmonary team. Arranges follow-up care and/or referral as necessary. May function as an educator and preceptor for students and residents from healthcare education programs. Understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values, and management of WakeMed Physician Practices.
Experience Requirements: 1 Year Clinical - Nurse Practitioner Preferred
Education Required: Master's Degree Nursing Required
Licensure/Certification Requirements: Certified Nurse Practitioner Required
Hours of Work: Shifts to be determined
Weekend Requirements: As Needed
