Position Summary
This position requiresthe full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission ofSaddleback Medical Center. The employee shall support SaddlebackMedical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performanceimprovement/patient safety activities.
Utilizing the nursingprocess and clinical nursing practice standards, the RN is responsible fordirecting, delivering, and coordinating nursing care for Women's and Children'sService patients in accordance with the policies and procedures of the NursingDepartment. Responsibilities include directing unlicensed employee activity,synthesizing patient information, assessment of patients, planning of care/interventions, teaching patients/family, implementation of treatment plan/MDorders, and evaluation of care rendered. The RN must effectively communicateand document data relevant to the care of the patient. The RN utilizesknowledge of patient age, cultural diversity, and psychosocial and/or spiritualneeds into the patient's plan of care. The RN contributes to the promotion ofquality nursing care through performance improvement processes thatdemonstrates positive outcome in patient care. In addition, the RN collaborateswith other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient caredelivery and the achievement of desired patient outcome.
