Fairview Health Services is searching for enthusiastic RNs looking for a rewarding career in our busy Endoscopy unit located at our Edina, Minnesota campus. This is an 8 hour position, consisting of rotating start times to cover our department hours of 630am-6 pm. Off premise call is required to cover evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Benefit eligible.
The Endoscopy department serves a diverse population of both inpatient and outpatients, providing Colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, EUS, Bronchoscopy and Minor Surgical procedures. Working as a team with the physician and Endoscopy technician we perform diagnostic and therapeutic exams for patients in our department, the OR, ICU, ED and Surgery. Endoscopy is a, fast-paced, complex environment offering advanced learning opportunities for the right candidate while partnering with an experienced multidisciplinary team.
The Endoscopy RN is responsible for managing the care of the adult or elderly patient beginning with the pre-procedure assessment, IV start, and education followed by procedural conscious sedation and monitoring, specimen collection and hands on assistance during the procedure. Post procedural sedation and MAC monitoring, teaching and discharge instructions are an important part of our patient care. The Endoscopy RN reports to the Nurse Manager. Nurses are also responsible to care for and reprocess all types of endoscopes.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
