Beaumont Grosse Pointe’s Family Medicine Program is recruiting a Program Director to continue to lead our residency and grow our community medicine program. We are seeking candidates who are dedicated to resident education, have a passion for serving vulnerable and underserved populations, value resident and faculty wellness, have the ability to maintain a culture of open, honest communication, and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are the only residency program in our hospital with strong support from the community and administration. Our current program director is transitioning to our medical director, taking the place of our previous medical director who is now the Chief Medical Officer for Beaumont Grosse Pointe.
We are a 6-6-6 program in a 280-bed community hospital in Grosse Pointe, located one mile from Detroit, MI. We currently have 6 core faculty, 1 behavioral health director, 1 clinical faculty, and an OB-GYN working directly with our residency. Our Family Medicine Center is located in St. Clair Shores, MI, a 15-minute drive from the hospital with patients coming from Detroit, Grosse Pointe, and southern Macomb County for care. We have undergone a curriculum shift towards community medicine over the past 5 years, implementing experiences to provide our residents exposure to patient populations in different settings such as homeless outreach centers, school-based health centers, and free clinics. We are actively working on population health and practice transformation in our family medicine center.
We are part of Beaumont Health, Michigan’s largest health care system, with 8-hospitals across Metro Detroit. We are affiliated with Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, acting as a core Family Medicine clerkship site.
Interested applicants can contact our recruiter, Roberta Simone, at Roberta.Simone@Beaumont.org, or current Program Director, Stephen Warnick Jr, at Stephen.Warnick@Beaumont.org
The qualified candidate will be Board Certified in Family Medicine, possess an unrestricted medical license in Michigan (or the ability to obtain one) and have prior experience in GME. Required clinical care will include outpatient clinic and inpatient rounding. Prenatal care and obstetrics is welcomed but not required.
