SUMMARY OF POSITION:The Registered Nurse/RN in this role is responsible for accepting incoming referral information via multimedia and working directly with bed management and direct care nursing to coordinate inpatient bed assignments (particularly critically ill) for patients at Penn State Health, Hershey Medical Center. The RN also coordinates, prioritizes, and optimizes patient flow using knowledge of clinical and operational activities throughout the hospital network.The RN will need strong critical thinking, accurate assessment, and problem solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required in attention to detail.
High-level analytical ability required in order to resolve complex patient flow issues.Interpersonal skills required.
