Desert Regional Medical Center is a 385 bed acute-care hospital classified as a stroke receiving center and level 2 trauma facility with an innovative , patient centered and evidence-based Rehabilitation Services Department. Our compassionate team provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute care rehabilitation,joint replacement & spinal surgery, neurosurgery, ICU, Telemetry, step-down care, skilled nursing, as well as outpatient therapy, hand and lymphedema clinics.
The Manager, Outpatient Services of ICON coordinates all aspects of the Institute of Clinical Orthopedics and Neurosciences clinics according to guidelines established by Tenet Healthcare Corporation to assure quality of care. DRMC & ICON focus on quality, streamlining operations and continuously improving technology as we strive to provide the best possible patient care and serve our community.The Manager, Outpatient Services acts as liaison between the clinical operations and the Service Line Administrator of ICON and associated Department Directors, Medical Directors, and Administration to ensure uninterrupted clinic operations. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, daily supervision of employees and management/oversight of clinic operations. Duties include staff hiring, payroll, supervision, conducting evaluations and discipline. Mentoring of supervisory personnel will occur when performing these functions. In addition, the Manager, Outpatient Services is responsible for ensuring correct ordering and maintaining of both medical and non-medical supplies as needed. All activities are managed within the budget parameters and according to Department/ DRMC policy and procedure. The Manager has access to certain payroll, registration and billing software programs, access to patient demographic information, and access to Patient Health Information related to job function.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES: This strategic leadership position will manage the overall operations of the practice, ensuring a vision and strategy for future growth. The Manager, Outpatient Services also provides expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. â�¢ Directs, supervises and coaches front office and clinical staff daily â�¢ Supports Service Line Administrator and hospitalâ��s vision for practice and executes plans to achieve vision â�¢ Identifies strategy for growth and executes plans to achieve growth goals â�¢ Managing the flow of the clinic to insure compliance, efficiency and patient satisfaction â�¢ Problem solving and addressing issues raised by physicians, employees, and patients â�¢ Marketing the practice in the local community â�¢ Responsible for carrying out all established policies â�¢ Knowledge of organization policies, procedures, systems, and objectives. â�¢ Knowledge of fiscal management and human resource management techniques. â�¢ Knowledge of accounting systems, insurance billing and collecting, and budgets. â�¢ Skill in planning, organizing, and supervising. â�¢ Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making. â�¢ Skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients, and the public â�¢ Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. â�¢ Ability to counsel/discipline personnel as requested or as may become necessary. â�¢ Ability to delegate authority, responsibility to other staff personnel as deemed necessary to perform their assigned duties. â�¢ Ability to handle information in a confidential manner
REQUIRED: â�¢ Bachelorâ��s Degree in Business Administration and/or Health Administration or related field â�¢ Minimum seven to ten years of leadership or management experience in a medical office â�¢ Must have a clinical background, Allied Health or relevant clinical experience for a minimum of 5 years
PREFERRED: â�¢ Masterâ��s Degree in Business Administration and/or Health Administration preferred â�¢ Proven track record in growing physician practice revenues and volumes â�¢ Physician Practice marketing expertise with a variety of tactics to grow and develop business
