You Will Be Responsible For:
MSPs are an essential part of any healthcare organization. MSPs are primarily accountable for the administrative and medical-legal structure of the medical staff organization. MSPs are responsible for the credentialing and re-credentialing of all physicians and allied health practitioners (AHPs)-making sure that a doctor or AHP is who they claim to be, and that they have the proper qualifications and credentials to care for patients. MSPs maintain databanks to track physician training, experience, and licensure, as well as manage an accredited continuing education program to help physicians maintain their clinical competency. Some of the most important responsibilities of MSPs are:
Works cooperatively with all staff
Supports the Philosophy, Goals, Policies and Procedures of AdventHealth Central Texas and the medical staff office
Believes in and practices the SHARE principles
Believes in and practices the mission of the Hospital
All other duties as assigned.
Timeliness of all duties.
What You Will Need:
Education: HS Diploma/GED Equivalence
Experience: Five (5) years office management and a working knowledge of medical staff office/health care field
Flexibility in scheduling of hours. May be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays. Cooperates with schedule changes or changing job assignments to meet the needs of coverage for the Medical Staff department.
May be required to be accountable for more than one person.
Maintains time and attendance, budget compliance, staffing of hours and assignments, and accomplishments, etc.
Type minimum: 65 wpm
Previously demonstrated initiative.
Administrative, supervisory, and consultative responsibility in an executive office or related health field preferred.
Medical staff professionals (MSPs also referred to as Medical Staff Coordinators) strive to assure the public that healthcare practitioners meet or exceed the established standards of care as determined by the regulatory environment and benchmarking standards with the healthcare community. MSPs work with medical staff and administrative leadership in areas such as credentialing, privileging, risk management, and other quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
