Seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Certified or Registered Medical Assistant for our Primary Care Department who is interested in working in an accredited patient-centered medical home within a college health environment. The University of South Carolina’s state-of-the-art medical facility with Gold LEED distinction provides care through a care-team model with other nurses, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered dietitians, counseling, social workers, psychiatrists, and other allied health professionals.
The CMA or RMA will conduct patient triage and evaluation within approved guidelines and scope of practice. Assist nurse(s), physician(s) and other providers in patient examinations, treatments, procedures and care for patients at Student Health Services Primary Care Department. Perform dressing changes, nebulizer treatments and ear irrigations.
Administer medications and injections as ordered. Obtain patient data such as vital signs, health history, chief complaint, routine medications, drug and other noted allergies.
Make and follow up on patient appointments. Provide administrative support for patients checking in and out and procedures to determine eligibility for service, fees and community resources.
Please note this is an 11 month position - you will have 5 consecutive weeks of in addition to the regular Health Services' holiday schedule. As such, the salary reflects this. The University offers generous benefits as well.

Graduation from accredited training program and 1 year experience, or high school diploma and 3 years related experience.
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with 3 years’ experience. Experience working within a care team environment and with electronic medical record systems. Knowledge of HIPAA (confidentiality) guidelines for patient information and records.
