Essential Duties: 1. Performs and documents all Nuclear Medicine quality control and quality assurance tests as required and according to State and Federal regulations. 2. Participates in the Radiation Safety Committee Meeting and assists in agenda for these meetings. 3. Secures repair services for all Nuclear Medicine equipment including quarterly camera checks, reports and logs and malfunctions according to established policies and procedures. 4. Maintains ordering and distribution of all radiopharmaceuticals according to policy and procedures. 5. Understands basic charting and utilizes correct forms for procedures and incidents. 6. Performs basic patient care when needed and according to hospital policies. 7. Responds immediately to any isotope spills according to established policy and procedures and assists with radiation safety in-services. 8. Observes strict precautions in handling isotopes for amounts given and to avoid over exposure to patient or self and in accordance with established policies and procedures. 9. Performs all imaging according to established policies and procedures and accurately relays history of patient and other imaging studies including NM studies that apply. 10. Demonstrates sound radiation safety practices according to established policies and procedures. 11. Insures all charges are appropriate and maintains charge master for current and new procedures and isotopes. 12. Maintains daily schedule, adds to it as needed and prioritizes as is appropriate. 13. Demonstrates knowledge regarding dispensing and use of non-controlled medications used in Radiology procedures and appropriately handles such medications under the direct supervision of a qualified physician. geriatric_____adult_____adolescent_____ child _____infant_____ 14. Completes other duties as assigned.
Required: Minimum Education: Graduate from an AMA school of Nuclear Medicine Technology. Knowledge and education necessary to obtain Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification from the state of California and current California Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification. Current ARRT License. Current American Heart Association BLS certification. NMTCB License preferred .
Minimum Experience: At least 1 year of acute hospital experience (may include training) preferred.
Preferred Skills and Abilities: Knowledge and experience in all Nuclear Medicine Procedures. Computer skills are essential.
