The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Goryeb Childrens Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey is recruiting a board certified/board eligible pediatric infectious disease physician to join a dedicated team including two other experienced pediatric infectious diseases physicians and contribute to the expansion of our rapidly growing division. The candidate is expected to work collaboratively with physicians in pediatric inpatient, NICU, critical care units, the pediatric emergency department and subspecialty services. Primary responsibilities also include: outpatient sessions, teaching to pediatric residents and medical students and participating in community outreach, education and scientific programs. Participation in clinical outcomes and quality improvement research relevant to divisional activities is encouraged

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:

• Ensure Clinical Quality related to Pediatric ID
• Participate in Pediatric Infection Control for Goryeb Childrenas Hospital.
• Participate in antibiotic stewardship for pediatrics.
• Maintain compliance with JCAFIP and DOH requirements.
• Participate in third party reimbursement plans as required by the Hospital and provide all necessary documentation for the purpose of billing for services rendered.
• Document clinical care in a clear, concise, legible and timely fashion.
• Submit all bills for outpatient and inpatient work in an accurate and timely manner to the AMG billing department.
• Attend pediatric department and general pediatric divisional meetings.
• Participate in hospital and system committees related to infection control.
• Subject to the needs of the practice, the Physician will maintain the following office hours: Mondays through Fridays and Saturdays as determined by the Physician in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of AMG, or his designee
• Use and endorse the use of all of AMGas and the Hospitalas automated systems, as appropriate, including the Epic electronic medical record.
• The Physician acknowledges that AMG is part of the continuum of health care services provided by the Hospital and agrees to actively support the health care mission, goals and objectives of AMG and the Hospital. In furtherance of the Hospitalas and AMGas quality and continuity of care goals, and to foster the exchange of information consistent with utilizing Electronic Medical Records, in rendering services to patients pursuant to this Agreement, the Physician shall refer patients to a Hospital campus and to AMGas practitioners unless an exception described in 42 C.F.R. $ 4I I.354(d)(a)(iv)(B) applies, i.e.,:
• the patient expresses a preference for a different provider/practitioner/supplier;
• the patientas insurer determines the provider/practitioner/supplier; or
• it is in the best medical interests of the patient, in the independent medical judgment of the Physician, that the patient receive health care services from another provider /practitioner/supplier.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide direct outpatient care, consultation and follow up care, to pediatric ID patients at Atlantic Health System hospitals and any related satellite facilities.
• Participate in inpatient consults and admissions for patients with pediatric ID needs. Work collaboratively with physicians in pediatric critical care, the inpatient floor, pediatric emergency department and other pediatric specialty areas.
• Participate in multidisciplinary programs in Pediatrics.
• Provide on-call coverage of Pediatric ID service on an equitably divided basis.
• Provide timely communication with referring and collaborating physicians.

EDUCATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in the medical education process. Insure that teaching of Pediatric ID, as required by the Residency Review Committee of the American Board of Pediatrics is provided for residents and medical students.
• Give didactic lectures in Pediatric ID.
• Present periodic Grand Rounds.
• Participate in continuing medical education courses, as appropriate.
• The Physician shall participate in community education and scientific programs as may be delegated or assigned to the Physician by AMG leadership and/or the Hospitalas President

RESEARCH:

• Identify and encourage possible research projects with residents.
• Participate in outcomes research relevant to divisional activities.

OUTREACH AND MARKETING:

• Assist through personal, one-on-one communication with the pediatric community o Present Grand Rounds at neighboring institutions.
• Participate in expansion of Pediatric ID services across AHS.
• Participate in other departmental outreach activities.
