Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a major teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School and a founding member of Mass General Brigham, seeks to recruit an academic surgeon or physician with a focus on Cardiac and Thoracic Critical Care to join the growing faculty within the Division of Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery and our Heart and Vascular Center.
Suitable candidates will have an MD or an MD-PhD. Qualifications include at least 5 years of experience in this specific area of focus, board certification in Critical Care (or equivalent) and eligibility for a full Massachusetts Medical License. The applicant will be expected to be clinically active and able to build a clinical destination program to attract patient referrals regionally, nationally and internationally. The candidate will also supervise Medical Students, Surgery Residents and Cardiac and Thoracic Fellows. Although several years of direct clinical and research experience is advantageous, less experienced candidates with exceptional promise will also be considered.
The successful candidate would be expected to fully integrate with the Department of Surgery, the Division of Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery and the Heart and Vascular Center’s internationally renowned cross-disciplinary efforts.
Appointment as an Assistant or Associate Professor at the Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training and achievements in addition to teaching activities.
