Work Hours/Shift:
Full time Days 12 hour shifts every other weekend
You Will Be Responsible For:
Conducts long-term monitoring in epilepsy and intensive/critical care units
Measures neurological responses to external stimuli and traces electrical pathways
Ability to scan, correlate, and clip studies
Ability to observe EEG tracings and respond appropriately to seizure activity
Explains testing procedures to patient and family using age-appropriate guidelines
Performs studies with appropriate documentation, observes patients, troubleshoots equipment and physiological artifacts, and utilizes appropriate resources
Evaluates recorded diagnostic data and reports abnormal findings to nurses and physicians
Recognizes and takes appropriate actions to respond to evolving patient care needs
Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as requested
Maintains diagnostic testing equipment and supplies
Monitors patients in Epilepsy Monitoring Units (EMUs), while adhering to protocols and procedures
Maintains accurate archive and retrieval systems for original EEG tracings
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
Graduation from an Electroneurodiagnostics school or two years of technical experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Job Summary:
Performs Electroencephalograms (EEGs), Evoked Potentials (EPs) and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) testing.
