POSITION SUMMARY: Perform the professional functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients in the acute care setting. Responsible for meeting the established Standards of Nursing Practice, and promoting cooperation among the health care team. Assist all department directors in meeting the departmental goals. In conjunction, with the Director and Assistant Director, the supervisor shall meet personal accountabilities as defined in the Tenet Target 100 standards of Service, People, Quality, Growth and Cost. Will be a member of the leadership team. Assumes the role of Director or Assistant Director when either one or both are absent from facility when directed to do so and will have supervisory responsibilities related to staff selection, terminations, performance evaluations, quality improvement and progressive discipline. #LI-PP1
Qualifications:
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE: Minimum: (1) Graduate of a school of nursing. (2) Basic computer skills. Required: (1) Two years experience in area of specialty: Supervision, ICU or ED. Preferred: (1) BSN with certification in specialty as above. (2) Three years recent acute care RN experience in area of specialty. (3) Must demonstrate competence in all aspects of hospital-wide supervision. LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: (1) Current California RN license, (2) AHA-BLS-HCP, (3) ACLS, (4) PALS within 6 months of new hire or transfer preferred. SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES: Communication is an essential skill requiring the ability to see, hear, and speak. Fluent in written and spoken English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
