Saint Joseph's Health has a 150 year history of providing outstanding care. Multiple in and out-patient facilities are located in Northern New Jersey. The main campus is located approximately 12 miles from Manhattan. In- patient facilities include a 651 bed tertiary care university hospital. Saint Joseph's Emergency Department is one of the busiest in the country. A state designated trauma center, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, advanced stroke center and interventional cardiology programs are present. A Critical Care Tower houses modern state of the art facilities. Twenty eight MICU beds are located in the Critical Care Tower. A modern simulation center is located on the main campus. A 229 bed community hospital with a 16 bed Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit is located approximately 5 miles from the main campus. Numerous residencies and fellowships are present, including a Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine Fellowship. Saint Joseph's is a four time recipient of the Magnet Award for Nursing Excellence. The MICU has received the Beacon Award for Excellence in Critical Care Nursing. Approximately 2,100 patients are admitted to the Critical Care Medicine S...ervice per year. In addition to Critical Care Services, a very active Critical Care Consult service, Pulmonary Consult services, Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program and a growing Sleep Medicine Program are present.
