We offer medical transportation services through MHealthFairview (formally HealthEast Medical Transportation), a leader in emergency medical services (EMS) and scheduled medical transportation for over 130 years. The Twin Cities trusts us for wheelchair transport as well as and basic, advanced and critical care life support transportation.
We handle more than 40,000 calls annually. Our state-of-the-art communications center is the first point of entry for all emergency and non-emergency calls. When seconds count, dispatchers quickly determine the closest available EMS unit. Using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, ambulances are tracked by location.
Our ambulance teams are staffed by some of the most experienced paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) in the region, helping to make us a leader in Minnesota for emergency and non-emergency ambulance service.
Provides operational supervision to the Emergency Medical Services Communication Center staff. Assures a high level of technical proficiency and professionalism while maintaining a high level of customer service and positive patient experience. Creates and maintains an environment of employee development and engagement.
Shift: 2 - 10PM (other as needed)
Ensures policy compliance by dispatchers and communication specialists.
Ensures accurate triage and effective deployment of Emergency Medical Services resources in compliance with policy and procedure.
Assures accurate data entry and collection.
Investigates and resolves concerns related to request for service and dispatch of Emergency Medical Services resources.
Hires, mentors, disciplines, evaluates and manages performance of assigned staff.
Creates and manages communication center staff schedules based on anticipated demand levels. Assures and maintains designated minimum communication center staffing levels. Assures accurate and efficient timekeeping for communication center staff.
Fosters a culture of improvement, efficiency and innovative thinking.
Develops matrix to track data to assure performance compliance.
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements including but not limited to growth initiatives, quality improvement, and service line advancement.
License/Certification/Registration Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certified within 6 months of hire Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certified within 6 months of hire
Experience 2 years of leadership experience 2 years of related communications center leadership
An associates degree in business administration, healthcare administration, management, or related field preferred. 2 of years of prehospital care experience Nationally Registered EMT or Paramedic Minnesota EMSRB Certified EMT or Paramedic EMD Q certifications within 6 months of hire
