Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
The Specialty Physician Assistantevaluates, plans and provides care for patients in consultation with and underdirect supervision of attending Physician. The Specialty Physician Assistantperforms clinical procedures under direction of attending Physician andaccording to approved protocols to include Performingappropriate medical screening and physical examinations, interpretinglaboratory data correctly and ordering appropriate laboratoryinvestigations. In addition, the Specialty PhysicianAssistant obtains medical and personalhistories, performs physical exams, educates patients and families, conductsresearch activities reporting and publishing findings when completed.
The ideal candidate for the Specialty Physician Assistantrole maintains effective communication with patients, staff and physicians;provides patient care in a competent, professional and courteous manner; andkeeps abreast of current research and incorporates relevant findings intospecific areas of clinical practice.
ACLS (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS): Must have an Adv Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within 30 days of hire or transfer.
