An exciting opportunity is available for Pediatric Critical Care Physicians to join Children’s Mercy Kansas City. Ideal candidates will be BE/BC in Pediatrics and Critical Care Medicine, ACGME fellowship trained in Critical Care Medicine as well as eligible for medical licensure in the States of Missouri and Kansas. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is currently a 41 bed combined intensive care unit with plans to expand to 67 beds comprising a dedicated medical/surgical and cardiac ICU anticipated in the spring of 2021. Admitting > 2,500 patients annually the Division cares for high acuity and high complexity patients with a variety of diagnosis that include acute respiratory failure, sepsis, acute kidney injury, trauma, neurocritical care diagnoses, solid organ and bone marrow transplantation, and various post-operative diagnosis of which post-operative congenital heart disease accounts for roughly 40% of patient days.
Children’s Mercy Kansas City is an independent, non-profit, 367-bed pediatric health system, providing over half a million patient encounters each year for children from across the country.
