The RN Chart Auditor / Injury Prevention Coordinator is responsible for the daily auditing of Emergency Department Charges to ensure accuracy of charges and for trauma related injury prevention activities and programs for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors across the continuum of care. This position collaborates with the professional community and develops relationships with other agencies and organizations with the goal of enhancing trauma-related care and relations of those in the community/region. This position is also responsible for assisting with the delivery of trauma-related education and training to healthcare providers (i.e., nurses, EMS providers, other healthcare providers) and intended target audiences. The RN Auditor/ Injury Prevention Coordinator demonstrates clinical nursing competency and acts as a clinical resource, functioning as a role model for patient care and assists in staff development and community development. The position works collaboratively with the ED Director, Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Medical Director to ensure the Trauma Centerï¿½s verification and designation requirements are met for outreach, education, and injury prevention. Trauma center public relations are inherent in this role.
Education / Training / Experience:
-Associates degree in nursing (ADN)
-3 years ED / Trauma Nursing Experience
-Knowledge of Windows, Power Point, Excel
-Perform charge audits on Emergency Department accounts to ensure accuracy and timely billing. Documents in PBAR are appropriated, according to Conifer/Tenet regulations, reconciles individual accounts and make applicable changes to the charges.
-Provides technical assistance and support in training staff on documentation and in conjunction with community leaders to lead educational injury prevention programs within the hospital and the community.
-Develops, implements and maintains injury prevention programs and participates in injury prevention activities for the Trauma Program at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center based on Trauma Registry statistical data and the needs of the community.
-On a daily basis enters all pertinent information into PBAR system to reflect any needed changes to the computer generated posted charges and maintains accurate records of injury prevention activities.
-Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN)
-Chart audit experience related to Emergency Department charges
