Responsible for screening all reservations from the M.D. office for severity of illness and intensity of service as required by payors in accordance with nationally accepted criteria. Recommends appropriate level of care and writes verbal orders as needed. Facilitates testing as needed. Facilitates/obtains pre-certification for admission if not available from physician office. Receives calls from physician or office staff for a reservation. Receives calls from PACU for a room assignment of all new admissions. Also receives miscellaneous request from nursing units and physician offices for blue plates, face sheets, change of patient information, etc. Monitors suspension list for physician compliance. Registers new admissions into HBOC system.
Presents self in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Makes bed assignments based on patientsï¿½ acuity diagnosis and physician request.
This role provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level. The role is responsible for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is delegated. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
To provide proficient, age specific, professional nursing skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care for assigned patients in accordance with legal, Hospital practice and departmental policies and procedures, established standards of nursing care and practice, and as defined by the State of Tennessee Board of Nursing.
Education: RN with current applicable state licensure / permit.
Experience: Five yearsï¿½ experience in an Acute Care setting. Case Management/Pre-certification experience preferred.
Professional Requirement: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Preferred: Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Master's degree)
Certifications: BLS certification required. ACLS required within 3 months of hire for ED, ICU, SDU, HS, FLOAT, TELE, MS,GIL,IR, L&D,PACU,andSDS.PALSorENPCrequiredwithin3monthsofHiredateforECC,PACU,HS,SDS and Float. CPI required for ED, Float, NA and HS. NRP required within 3 months of hire for LD andNICU.
