In conjunction with the leadership team of Respiratory Services, the Critical Care Respiratory Specialist is responsible for direct oversight of the care of Critical Care patients. The Critical Care Respiratory Specialist serves as a resource to the management team, staff, and interdisciplinary members alike demonstrating expertise in the planning and delivery of specialized patient care. Conducts in-services and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills of house staff and nursing personnel.
This position is exempt from Career Service under the CCHHS Personnel Rules.
Bachelor degree in healthcare field or similar from an accredited college or university with Two (2) years of full time experience in a clinical role in Acute Care OR Masters of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited college or university (Must provide official transcripts at time of interview)
Must be a graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program (Must provide official transcripts at time of interview)
Must be currently registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (Must provide proof at time of interview)
Must be licensed by the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) (Must provide proof at time of interview)
Current Advanced Cardiac life Support (ACLS) Certification (Must provide proof at time of interview)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Must provide proof at time of interview)
Current Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) Certification (Must provide proof at time of interview)
Current Pediatric Life Support (PALS) Certification (Must provide proof at time of interview)
Current Adult Critical Care Respiratory Therapist (ACCS) Certification (Must provide proof at time of interview)
Current Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) Certification (Must provide proof at time of interview)
Current Respiratory Pulmonary Function Technician (RPFT) Certification (Must provide proof at time of interview)
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification (Must provide proof at time of interview)
Five (5) years of full time experience in a clinical role in Critical Care
