Through advanced professional nursing practice, the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) supports the goals of the patient care division at EMC by advancing the provision of quality patient care. The CNS assumes leadership roles in clinical practice, education, research and consultation with the hospital and community. The CNS is responsible for the provision and coordination of orientation and training of designated nursing staff, including, but not limited to: CCU, PCU and RT. The CNS assists the CCU Director and PCU Supervisor with competency development and implementation. The CNS provides leadership by delegating and working cooperatively with other personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice. Performs other duties as required.
Graduate of accredited Registered Nursing Program with a minimum of a MSN
Registration, Certification and or Licensure Required:
Licensure to practice in the State of California
Current BLS and ACLS
CCRN and and Clinical Nurse Specialist certification
3 years clinical nursing experience in Critical Care and Cardiovascular Surgery
