Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
The primary purpose of this full time position is to assist the attending CVT Intensivist by using an in-depth knowledge of critically ill cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical patients to care for such patients in the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Intensive Care Unit. This position will work in a University teaching hospital specifically with the Divisions of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, in the Department of Surgery. The Divisions of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery provide care for patients in ambulatory, acute and critical care settings, and interacts with physicians, nurses, health science students and other disciplines in various locations throughout the hospital and medical school. This position works a flexible schedule based on rounds, conferences, clinical research, and special assignments in collaboration with a physician. This position is expected to perform duties, responsibilities and most assignments occur with considerable autonomy and self-direction in providing total medical care for patients. Requires an Advanced degree from an accredited APP (ACNP or PA) training program Licensure and Certifications. Must be North Carolina license. Board certification if required by the Department.
