1. Demonstrates knowledge of the use of equipment that produces ionizing radiation; demonstrates understanding of the use of supplies used during procedures to include: ï¿½Image Processing ï¿½Catheters, Balloons, Stents ï¿½Sterile technique 2.Correctly positions patients during: ï¿½CINE filming ï¿½Fluoroscopy ï¿½Cardiac injections ï¿½Peripheral panning ï¿½Peripheral injections 3.Properly interprets examination requests. 4.Selects technical factors for fluoroscopic, cineradiolgraphic and radiographic operation of equipment. 5.Assists in preparation of patient for procedures to include: ï¿½EKG ï¿½Pulse Check ï¿½Assists with transportation of patients to/from Cath lab. ï¿½Chart preparation 6.Performs necessary tasks in preparation, maintenance and trouble-shooting of equipment and supplies to include: ï¿½WITT Image 3 ï¿½Vanguard ï¿½AOTs ï¿½Image Intensifier ï¿½View Boxes ï¿½DCI ï¿½Eigen ï¿½Camtronics ï¿½Others as directed 7.Assists in maintenance of file inventory and supplies for procedures, and contrast media. 8.Adheres to strict aseptic technique for sterile procedures. 9.Is responsible for prepping the patient, setting up sterile field, back table, all instruments and catheters used during the procedures.
10.Assists the Cardiologist with cardiac catheterization, coronary angioplasty, peripheral angioplasty with/without laser, sones cutdown, insertion of intra-aortic balloon pump, and temporary and permanent pacemakers, and electrophysiological test. 11.Performs accurate hemodynamic pressure monitoring utilizing the WITT System. 12.Reviews quality control for production and processing of images: maintains appropriate records of all QA procedures. 13.Maintains film library to include: ï¿½Film retrieval ï¿½Documentation/mailing of films to other facilities. ï¿½Filing of films ï¿½Verification of cases for re-do patients, availing those films prior to start of case. 14.Assists in room set-up to include: ï¿½Angiojet ï¿½Oximeter ï¿½Filling injector prior to LVG ï¿½Assisting scrub tech in table set-up with fluids and catheters. ï¿½Sterile patient field, lines and tubing as needed. ï¿½Atherectomy devices 15.Trains new personnel and assists in inservice classes, preparation of cardiac conferences and film viewing. 16.Reports equipment malfunctions and obtains repair services as needed. 17.Maintains radiation film badges. 18.Assists physicians and/or any members of cath team as requested.
A. Minimum Education: Certified Radiologic Technologist in the State of California in x-ray technology, with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, in good standing. ARRT advanced certification in Cardiovascular/Interventional Radiology preferred. Graduate of AMA approved program in radiologic technology. Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification.
B. Minimum Experience One year of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab preferred.
