The STROKE STEMI RN is a Registered Nurse who provides care to a diverse population of patients with perceived or actual physical/emotional alterations in health that are undiagnosed or require further intervention. This nurse is also responsible for providing prompt and immediate care the for non-STEMI, STEMI and acute stroke patient populations with in the ED, ICU, and inpatient hospital. The RN will be responsible for a full cardiac and nuero assessments and work along side the ER physicians to clinically manage these patient populations. Emphasis at this level is a leadership role in caring for patients who require episodic, primary or acute care. The nurse is a resource person for the other team members. The nurse, in collaboration with the Emergency Department Director, will establish unit goals to improve patient outcomes and elevate the standards of patient care.
Current California RN license, ALS, BLS and PALS certification. Nonviolent crisis intervention certification or within three months of hire.
Three years recent Emergency Department and or Critical Care experience
CEN or CCRN Certification
Particiapates in/member of hospital committees: Neuro and cardiac committee
Provide a yearly educational presentation
Experience with cardiac and stroke patients: NIHSS certification
Bachelor's in the Science of Nursing Degree
Membership in a professional organization
