Provides nursing triage services and health advice for patients and managed care members over the phone.
Assesses and determines the patients’ level of need for medical assistance.
Provides results and education related to diagnostic testing to ensure continuity and quality of care. Responsible for accurate, appropriate and timely telephone and electronic messaging. Provides protocol-driven clinical advice for the Geisinger Health System population.
The RN Triage Navigator understands a broad spectrum of patient medical conditions and pathophysiology.
Responsible for ensuring the very best patient/family experience by optimizing all customer interaction. Foster a positive work environment through mutual support and cooperation and adheres to GHS and unit specific Service Standards.
Directly accountable to the Director of Geisinger Placement Services.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania. Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
Must be BLS certified.
Minimum of three to five years of clinical nursing experience required. Critical Care experience preferred
Triage, call center, or clinic related experience preferred.
Successful completion of scheduling training preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in a clinical office or call center environment. Work is typically performed in a high-intensity, fast-paced setting.
